Roller chains are most commonly used for transmission of mechanical power on industrial and agricultural machinery. It is a simple, reliable, and efficient means of power transmission. But did you know that sketches have been discovered by Leonardo da Vinci in the 16th century showing a roller chain-like mechanism? At least it says so on the internet. Timing belts are used for power transmission or to interchange rotary motion and linear motion, where either high loads or maintaining a specific drive ratio are important. A Reid Supply V-Belts are employed for power transmission between shafts that may not be parallel. Power transmission is conducted by specially designed belts and pulleys.
