Outside micrometers are used for measuring the thickness or outside diameter of small parts or fittings with high accuracy. Similar in appearance to a C-clamp, the object to be measured is clamped between the anvil (the stationary end of the clamp) and the spindle (the moving part of the clamp). The clamp opens and closes by turning an internal screw. On analog micrometers, measurement is calculated by reading the lines and numbering system that appears on the thimble and sleeve.

The U-WAVE wireless measurement data communication system improves efficiency by eliminating the need for data cables when sending measurements to a PC. User-friendly interface allows data to be loaded into any software product that accepts keyboard input, such as Microsoft Excel™ or Notepad.
Reid Supply offers disc and cylindrical magnets primarily in Neodymium, Alnico and Ceramic models. Neodymium magnets are powerful, yet compact. Alnico magnets are ideal for high heat applications and cermanic magnets are generally the most economical. Applications are abundant: fixtures, jigs, panel mounts, end of retrieving tools, catches/latches, linear actuators, sensing, gyroscopes, flow meters, pacemakers, etc.
Standard Drill Press Vises can be used from three sides to level work quickly with built-in jaw parallels. Widely spaced guide bars permit drilling clear through work and jaw sides are designed to permit accurate drilling from the sides without resetting.
Cup & Hook Magnets are low profile magnets that are ideal for holding steel doors, hanging signs and lights, mounting antennas, retrieving steel items from tanks, vats, bins and lakes, holding traps in place and many other industrial uses.
Bench vises are a holding device attached to a workbench; has two jaws to hold workpiece firmly in place. Reid’s industrial line of high quality vises just got bigger. We have added to our bench vise line with a 4", 5", 6", and huge 8" models.
Starrett punches are of the highest quality on earth. As simply as they are, punches are designed for specific applications. The drives are heat treated and seasoned to absorb repetitive shock. Automatic punches are also available. Punches are available in a variety of types like drive pin, center, nail set, and others.
The Actima clamping device is self-locking and designed for smooth, precise clamping that is both repeatable and very forceful. It can be used for thrust or tension clamping, and is ideal to build into clamping fixtures, such as a teeter-totter. The version with transverse axis features a pin crossing the central bore of the thrust plunger. The pin can be used as a connecting point for a tension clamping linkage, or it can be used to support a small diameter shaft for thrust clamping. The through hole version features a central bore that is completely open and unobstructed. This is the simplest version, often chosen for thrust clamping. The clamping plunger of every Actima clamp as a travel of 12 mm. For 10 mm of that travel, movement is quick and free. During the final 2 mm of travel, movement is dramatically slower and the clamp becomes self-locking. The location of 2 mm self-locking phase determines whether the Actima is ideal for thrust or tension clamping. In the thrust clamping version, the plunger rises quickly out of the clamp body and slows at the end of its travel. The 2 mm of slow, self-locking travel is highlighted in red in the drawing. The pull version is designed for tension clamping. The plunger starts fully extended, and falls rapidly into the body of the clamp. The 2 mm zone of slow, self-locking travel occurs close to the body of the clamp, just before it is fully retracted.
Heavy Duty Air Filters have a 40 micron sintered bronze filter element with a bayonet locking ring for easy bowl removal by hand. These filters have a high strength polycarbonate bowl and supplied bowl guard.
Adjustable Compression Latches are IP65 rated and are made from either Chrome or Black Powder Coated Die-Cast Zinc. They offer a 6mm compression and there are 3 cam styles available; either flat, offset or deep. The cam can be used forward or reversed and the latch provides good compression and noise isolation. The 2 fixing sizes available are 20.2mm x 22.2mm and 19.2mm x 22.2mmAdjustable Compression Latches w/Wing Knob are used for cabinets that require better sealing under vibration. The range comes in a choice of finish and are available in locking and non locking versions.
Traditional calipers and dividers predate design in direct measurement. As direct measurement increased in popularity, these tools became useful in trasferring precise dimensions from the workpiece to the measuring instrument or to gage similar parts.
The Mitutoyo standard type bore gage is available in several different inch ranges to measure inside bore diameters with accuracy to .00008”. The bore gage comes with interchangeable anvils to measure different bore diameters with the same gage. A pendulum guide structure permits the slide of the gage for measurements while a two-point contact system detects geometry anomalies such as ovalness and taper. Large, newly designed grips are easier to hold and reduce heat transfer from the operator for better accuracy. Interchangeable anvils are constructed of alloy steel with carbide-tipped measuring faces for added accuracy and durability.
Designed in unique shapes for maximum comfort and secure grip, clamping knobs provide good leverage and secure fastening for applications that require quick and frequent adjustment.
Our industrial-grade hoist rings are built to handle maximum load capacities and meet OSHA safety requirements. Made from heat-treated forged alloy steel, our selection includes stationary hoist rings; swivel hoist rings that swivel 360 degrees to allow lifting from any direction; and side-pull hoist rings that are designed for side mounting.
Drum fans provide large air movement at floor level. These air circulators are used to cool warehouses, manufacturing area or production lines. A mobil design allows for easy adjustment or reposition.
Digital calipers are precision measuring devices used to measure linear dimensions, thickness, and diameter. These devices have upper and lower parallel jaws that perform measurement with extreme accuracy and the output appears on an electronic LCD display.
Dial indicators are capable of measuring small distances between two surfaces that a standard gauge cannot reach. These precision instruments translate the small linear distance into rotational movement and display the measurement on a continuous dial numbered clockwise around the face. Also known as test indicators, dial indicators are frequently used to measure machinery calibrations and equipment tolerances.
Ball knobs are commonly found on machine tools, jigs, fixtures, and control levers, our ball knobs come in a variety of shapes such as round, knurled, mushroom, and recessed-top.
