Rotary Motion

 (20 product groups)

Power transmission is the transfer of energy from its place of generation to another location where it is applied to perform work using simple machines and linkages. We offer a wide range of rotary motion components used to transmit, convert, and control motion in your industrial systems. Our diverse line of rotary bearings includes ball, roller, cam-follower, sealed, shielded, open, and mounted. These bearings are available in a variety of materials and comply with radial, axial, and multi-directional force requirements. We also carry an array of collars, couplings, joints, and rod ends to inhibit misalignment of shafting components. Belt styles include standard and cogged with multiple cross-section options. We have pulleys, tensioners, and idler shafts to suit many applications, as well as a selection of miter and spur gears in a range of bore sizes. Compatible gear racks are also available.

Roller Bearings

Roller bearings can offer higher load capacities than ball bearings by virtue of their line contact versus point contact (used in ball bearings). These bearings can be utilized for general use and within engine connecting rods.

Ball Bearings

Ball bearings are capable of rotational speeds that exceed the limits of a plain bearing. Available in sealed, shielded, metal, non-metal and open versions.

Mounted Bearings

Mounted bearings and housings with rolling bearings support a rotating shaft, which can be bolted on a machine frame or any other substurcture. There is no need to precisely machine a bearing housing in a surrounding casing. This makes these solutions cost-efficient and easy to use, while providing full rolling bearing performance.

Spherical Bearings

These bearings are self aligning, maintenance free and made of high performance polymer. Dust, dirt, corrosion and chemical resistant. Operates in temperatures ranging from -40 to +275 degrees Farenheit.

Spherical Rod Ends

Available in polymer and metal. Suitable for rotary and oscillating motion. While the polymer rod ends feature self lubrication, the metal ones combine high strength with low cost.

Thrust Bearings

Thrust bearings are designed for moderate speeds and fairly high loads. Reid Supply also offers economical nylon ball retainers and cylindrical rollers.

Turntable Bearings

Turntable bearings are ideal for swivel displays, welding tables, industrial assemblies. May be mounted using the recommended bolts or welded directly to the fixture.

Bearing Accessories

Bearings often need to be serviced or replaced in the field. Reid Supply acknowledges that and offers inner rings, retaining rings, seals and lubricants as a result.

Boots & Bellows

Protect your actuators and couplings from contaminants with our offering of boots and bellows. Available in round and rectangular shapes.

Flexible Couplings

Flexible couplings allow for some misalignment but rotational speed may be slightly compromised. Available as both assemblies and individual components (hubs, sleeves, halves and spiders).

Rigid Couplings

Featuring one-piece clamp, two-piece clamp and set screw styles. Keyed and keyless bores available. Clamp screws are forged and treated with an anti-vibration coating to keep them from loosening.

Collars

Shaft collars have extremely diverse applications and fall into three main categories, positioners, spacers and limiters. Reid Supply has all the main types from one-piece, two-piece, hinged, set screw aand self-locking shaft collars that will fit most shaft types from round to keyed, threaded or even a support rail.

Keyed Shafts

A keyed shaft works in unison with a rotating machine element to transmit torque to power transmission components. Available in various key sizes and diameters.

Idler Shafts

These idler shafts are hardened and ground for maximum idler life. To ensure maximum rigidity, they are shouldered and threaded into units and locked with a set screw.

V-Belts

These belts are constructed from highly engineered, high performance, oil and heat resistant components. Choose from standard, cogged, fabric wrapped and raw edge notched models. Multiple cross section types available.

V-Belt Pulleys

V-belt pulleys offer an effective way to transmit power in applications where linear sliding systems aren't viable. Various diameters to choose from. Available in ball and needle bearing styles.

Tensioners

Featuring adjustable flange, adjustable angle and adjustable screw types. These components increase the life of the drive and can be mounted in tight areas where space is limited.

Gears

Reid Supply offers miter and spur gears which are amongst the most economical gears in the power transmission industry. Spur gears are used to transmit power between parallel shafts while miter gears are used to transmit power between perpendicular shafts.

Gear Racks

Gearing systems are less intricate and have lesser mating components compared to other linear motion components. This allows gear racks to be able to function over long distances.

Dampers

Rotary dampers provide an invisible yet valuable service as a maintenance-free machine element to allow controlled deceleration of rotary movements. They are often necessary to make careful opening and closing of small lids, compartments and drawers possible. They protect sensitive components while increasing the quality and value of products. They are easy to integrate. The harmoniously gentle movements of these little decelerators can be achieved with continual rotation or with limited pivoting angles.
